Duties
 
All reserve officers are required to donate a minimum of 10 hours of service per month. In addition, officers are required to attend a monthly training meeting. Quarterly qualification with your duty weapon and shotgun are required. By state law, a first aid and CPR card must be maintained. There are three levels of reserve officers in the department. Reserves Duties
 
Level III Reserve Officer
Will perform limited support duties such as traffic control, security at parades and special events, jail and desk duty, evidence and prisoner transportation and other duties that are not likely to result in physical arrests. Will be supervised in the accessible vicinity by a Level I Reserve Officer or a full-time Officer. Completion of Level III Module is required. Level III officers must be enrolled in a Module II course within a year of employment.
 
Level II Reserve Officer
General law enforcement duties under the immediate supervision of a Police Officer who has completed the P.O.S.T. Regular Basic Course. Can perform the duties of a Level III Reserve Officer without immediate supervision. Completion of Level III and II Modules are requried.
 
Level I Reserve Officer
General law enforcement duties under the same supervision as a full-time Officer. Completion of Level III, II, and I Modules or Basic Police Academy.
