| Requirements |

| Age: 21 and over (may apply at 20 1/2). |
| |
| Medical Exam: Must be physically fit for police duties, per P.O.S.T. guidelines. |
| |
| Eyesight: Minimum 20/70 uncorrected, correctable to 20/20 in both eyes. |
| |
| Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a Level III P.O.S.T. Reserve Officer Module. |
| |
| Citizenship: U.S. citizen or have applied for citizenship one year prior to application. |
| |
| Personal Skills: The Santa Clara Police Reserve wants caring people who are willing to become involved in the law enforcement aspect of the community. You will be called upon occasionally to work irregular hours that will include nights, weekends and holidays. You will be required to exercise tact, patience and good judgement when dealing with our community. Your demeanor will reflect upon your ability to do the job. |

| Other Requirements: Applicants must be in good physical condition, reside within a reasonable distance from the Police Department, possess a valid California driver's license, maintain a telephone in their home, and not have an occupation that will interfere with duties as a Reserve Officer. |

| Applicants cannot have been convicted of a felony. |
